Making your own tempeh bacon can be a piece of cake. Especially if you are using this recipe made from simply old bay spice, soy sauce, oil and liquid smoke. The only hard part is the waiting...because for this recipe you will be baking the tempeh bacon dry to a crisp. Lets begin!
1 package of Tempeh
5 Tablespoons of Soy Sauce
4 Tablespoons of Canola Oil (or a mild tasting oil)
2 teaspoon of Old Bay Seasoning
1/8 teaspoon of Liquid Smoke (or more if you like extra smoke)
Preheat oven to 300 F
In a bowl, whisk together the marinade ingredients.
Slice the tempeh very thinly and add into the marinade bowl.
Allow tempeh to marinade for at least 15 minutes.
Bake at 300 F for 20 minutes flip the tempeh over and bake for another 20 minutes or until gold brown and crisp.
