Baked Panko Onion Rings


1 vidalia onion or onion of your choice

1/8 cup all purpose flour
1/8 cup  corn starch
1/2 cup cold almond milk (or non-dairy milk of your choice)
1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

1/2 cup vegan panko bread crumbs
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoons oil


preheat the oven to 450 F

& line a half sheet pan with parchment paper and sprayed with oil.

cut onions into 3/4 inch thick slices and separate the rings. set it aside, while you make the batter and breading.

In a large bowl add the flour, corn starch and gradually add in the almond milk while stirring, making sure everything is fully incorporated and lastly add in the apple cider vinegar. Then set aside the batter.

Then another large bowl, add in the panko and garlic salt and drizzle in the oil and mix with your hands.

(Onion Ring Assembling)

dip the onion ring in the batter shake off the extra batter, then dip it in the bread crumb making sure its completely covered & transfer the onion ring to the sheet pan. Continue batter and breading process with the rest of the onion rings.

Spray the onion rings lightly before baking them.
Bake for about 8 minutes and flip and bake for another 6 minutes.
