Vegan Whole Wheat Waffle Recipe


Ingredients

Dry

1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
3 Tablespoons Sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet
1 1/2 cup rice milk (or vegan milk or your choice)
2 Tablespoon Flax Meal mix with 6 Tablespoons warm water
3 Tablespoon Canola oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)


Directions

preheat your waffle maker

mix the dry ingredients set aside. mix the wet ingredients until fully incorporated, then gradually add in the dry ingredient.

lightly grease your waffle skillet, add 1/4 cup of batter for 1 waffle. 

serve with favorite syrup and fruit

  1. These were simple, tasty, and not terribly chewy as whole wheat can often be. Very well done. Thie recipe made 5 waffles for me, and I had to use about 1/3 cup of batter for my waffle iron. Definitely making a double batch next time so we have some leftovers to freeze :)
